A lot has been written on this Internet Blog on the US Power Elite (1) and its power to decide even over life and death of the US President himself (2). The US Power Elite might count now 50 to 100 people as consequence of ongoing concentration so well described already by Karl Marx (3). But what if this elite is fractioned and at war with itself? It is not new to history that even in tight circles of power fierce fighting could break out and killing of competing members of that circle was common place in History. Broken Window and Police Violence

As so many of us have no incomes that can sustain what we were able to give our families and ourselves; what we once thought only happened “on that side of town” or “to those people who live on the wrong side of the tracks” is now visited upon our once so pristine, manicured and sooo “Middle Class” neighborhoods. So we need to know the “terminology” and it’s repercussions, applies to US!

Broken Window and Police Violence

As the mainstream media highlights more cases of police brutality, there has been a split in opinion between which party is at fault. Many Americans believe the police officers committing these killings have committed crimes and should be prosecuted, while others believe these officers acted accordingly based off the police reports. However, the mainstream media does not talk enough about how the police actually police or what guides an officer’s decisions.

Police departments around the country base their policing policies off the Broken Windows Theory, which has stimulated the belief that allowing minor offenses to go unpunished will lead to more serious offenses. Many of these cases, like the Michael Brown case, are a result of a police officer enforcing a minor offense if any to prevent future offenses.
